UPDATE: Pedestrian dies weeks after getting hit by vehicle in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A man who was hit by a vehicle in Tucson last month has died, city police said.

The Tucson Police Department said they were told Adam Chavez died from his injuries on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

The 56-year-old Chavez was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Country Club and Irvington around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13.

The TPD said Chavez was not in a crosswalk when he was struck and the driver stayed at the scene and tried to help Chavez.

Speed and impairment were not a factor in the accident. The TPD said the driver, who was not injured in the crash, has not been cited.
