WOMEN: Cats kick The Beach

LONG BEACH, CA. – Arizona won their seventh-straight game by a score of 70-43 over Long Beach State on Sunday afternoon in the Walter Pyramid.

The nation’s leading scorer Aari McDonald scored 17 points while Sam Thomas poured in a season-high 16.

Destiny Graham returned from injury and had a nice game off the bench, scoring eight points and brought down four rebounds in 20 minutes.

Tucson’s Lauren Green (Cienega ’18) started for the 49ers and played 17 minutes scoring one point. She has started six straight games for Long Beach State and is averaging 3 points per game this season.

The 49ers also boast former Arizona Wildcats forward Bria Rice. The sophomore has played in just four games this season due to injury. Rice did not score in 17 minutes on Sunday.

She redshirted last season after spending her freshman year (2016-17) at UA.

Arizona (8-1) will have about a week off for finals and then will face UTEP in McKale Center on Monday, Dec. 17. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. MST.
