TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - For the second day in a row, southern Arizona experienced snowfall on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Snow fell mostly in the higher elevations around Tucson and to the south and east, but there was early-morning snow seen falling near the airport and Valencia Road and I-10. A trace of snowfall was recorded at the Tucson airport.

In Cochise County, SR 80 was closed for 10 miles between SR 90 and Denn Road because of the winter conditions.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said eastbound traffic on I-10 was at a standstill past Benson because of the storm. ADOT dispatched snow plows to clear I-10 near Benson earlier in the morning.
