UPDATE: Woman arrested for death of husband on Tucson’s east side

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Detectives are investigating a homicide at a residence in the 7200 block of East Elbow Bay Place, near Broadway and Kolb.

When officers responded to the scene, they discovered a man unresponsive with a gunshot wound.

The release stated Michael Freitag was transported to Banner University Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

Police arrested Leticia Freitag, according to a Sunday afternoon update from the department. A press release Sunday night stated Freitag called 911 herself, claiming to have shot her husband.

The victim had been staying somewhere else lately, according to police. When he showed up to the home on Elbow Bay Place, police suspect Freitag shot him.

The couple’s two teenagers were in the home at the time. They were not harmed, according to police.

Investigators believe the incident was the result of domestic violence.

Freitag appeared before a judge Sunday night. Her bond was set at a million dollars.
