TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Emanuel “Book” Richardson took a plea deal on Monday with federal prosecutors in the Arizona college basketball fraud case.

Richardson pled guilty to one count of federal funds bribery, punishable by 18 to 24 months in prison. He was accused of taking $20,000 in bribes from sports agent Christian Dawkins in exchange for recruiting potential NBA-bound Arizona players to sign with Dawkins-affiliated agents and financial planners.

Richardson will no longer stand trial, meaning he will no longer face up to 60 years in prison.
