BEAR DOWN: Cats make it 18 straight over Stanford

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Arizona had five players score in double figures as the Wildcats beat Stanford 73-70 Wednesday night at Maples Pavilion in Palo Alto, California.

The victory was UA’s 18th in a row over the Cardinal. 17 of those have come with Sean Miller as head coach.

Brandon Randolph scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Wildcats (12-4, 3-0) who have yet to lose in Pac-12 Conference play.

Stanford (7-8, 0-3) remains winless.

Ira Lee and Brandon Williams both scored 12 points.

Arizona trailed 52-47 eight minutes into the second half, but the Wildcats went on a 14-2 run to turn the game back in their favor.

Randolph scored seven during that stretch.

On the downside, graduate point guard Justin Coleman left the game late in the 2nd half with what appeared to be a re-injury of his left shoulder.

The Wildcats will play at California (5-10, 0-3) on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. Tucson time.
