Convicted child killer off Tucson streets after being sent back to prison
The Arizona Board of Executive Clemency voted to send William Huff back to prison on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Convicted child killer William Huff is back in prison and off the Tucson streets.

AZ Family reported Huff was sent back to jail by the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

In 2016, Huff was granted parole and ended up living in Tucson. During a surprise visit in November 2018, Huff’s parole officers said they found an 8-year-old girl in his apartment.

The girl was the niece of Huff’s girlfriend, but it was still a violation of the terms of his parole.

According to AZ Family, Huff’s sister testified that her brother is no danger to the community.

“He’s a wonderful man," said LaWanda Bishop. “He’s not going to kill anybody. He’s not going to hurt anybody. He won’t even hurt anybody’s feelings.”

The Board still voted to revoke Huff’s home arrest status and send him back to prison to continue his sentence.

Huff was convicted of killing two young Sierra Vista girls -- 7-year-old Cindy Clelland and 6-year-old Jenelle Haines -- in 1967. He was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.
