TUCSON, AZ - No. 6 Stanford went up nine at the end of the first quarter and never looked back as they took down the Arizona Wildcats 78-48 in McKale Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Cardinal (14-1, 4-0 Pac-12) made things difficult for Arizona on the offensive end, forcing the Wildcats to 27% shooting.
Aari McDonald’s string of 30-point games ended at 30 as the sophomore finished with 17 points.
On the other end, Stanford made 13 three-pointers. Alanna Smith paced the Cardinal with 20 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks.
Next up for Arizona (13-3, 3-2 Pac-12) is the Top 10 ranked Oregon schools on the road starting with Oregon State on Friday, Jan. 18. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. MST.
