TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Matt Johnson has been offered and has accepted the head football coach position at Mountain View High School in Marana, a source close to the situation told our David Kelly on Tuesday.

Johnson resigned as head coach at Ironwood Ridge High School last week.

He was 85-35 in ten seasons with the Nighthawks and led the program to the 2012 Division II state championship.

Ironwood Ridge made the playoffs in all ten of Johnson’s seasons as head coach.

He replaces Clarence “Bam” McRae who led the Mountain Lions program to four state tournament appearances in his seven seasons.
