(Gray News) - In celebration of Black History Month, ride-share company Lyft announced a free ride initiative.
Throughout February, Lyft will provide one free ride up to $10 to Black history museums, memorials, and relevant cultural sites in cities across the country.
The company said the offer is also extended for rides to Black-owned businesses throughout the many communities it serves.
“Much has been done, much remains to be done, and Lyft is honored to step up today to do our part to continue building inclusive and more connected communities while helping provide greater opportunity for the leaders of tomorrow,” Lyft said in a press release.
The company said it’s also celebrating the one-year anniversary of its partnership with Black Girls Code, an organization committed to increasing the representation of African-American women in technology.
The full list of participating cities, designated locations, and codes are listed on the Lyft website.
The promo codes will expire on Feb. 28 at 11:58 p.m.
