TUCSON, AZ, November 21, 2009 --- Sports fans know that Thanksgiving break is a great time for college basketball. Thanks to Salpointe Catholic High School's Fourteenth Tip-Off Classic Tournament, there will be plenty of exclusive high school matchups in the Tucson and Phoenix areas as well.
The annual tournament kicks off on Monday, November 23 at 3:30 p.m. at Salpointe and features 14 high schools: Amphi High (Tucson), Palo Verde (Tucson), Buena (Sierra Vista), Red Mountain (Mesa), Canyon del Oro (Tucson), Sabino (Tucson), Chandler High (Chandler), Cienega (Vail), Saguaro (Scottsdale), Fremont (Oakland, CA), Rincon (Tucson), McClintock (Tempe) and Rio Rico (Rio Rico). Games will be held at Salpointe Catholic High School and Chandler High School with pool play running through November 25 and playoffs commencing on November 27. The championship game will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m. with the location to be announced.
