Tucson, AZ (KOLD) - A $600,000 federal grant will help elderly Arizonans with chronic diseases.
The grant to the Arizona Department of Health Services from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services uses funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
A release from Representative Raul Grijalva's office says Arizona will use its grant to create and support evidence-based programs for older adults with chronic diseases, and to build a statewide chronic disease service delivery system.
Grijalva's office says the effort will directly create health care jobs and inform older people with chronic diseases about how to improve their own health.
