THREE POINTS, AZ (KOLD) - Drug smugglers walked away from a half million dollars worth of marijuana, and the ATV's they were riding.

Border Patrol agents followed tracks and found two abandoned ATV's in the desert near Three Points Wednesday.

There were 25 bundles of pot stacked on the ATV's, totaling about 633 pounds.

A Border Patrol news release states., "Utilizing ATV's is just another example of how drug trafficking organizations attempt to move forward illicit narcotics.  Tucson Sector agents remain vigilant to the array of smuggling methods used by these organizations.   From October 1, 2009, to April 30, 2010, the Tucson Sector Border Patrol has seized over 622,000 pounds of marijuana with a value at over $498 million."
