TUCSON-AZ (KOLD)-The Ott family YMCA is getting more than a new look; the multi-million dollar make-over is giving people with disabilities the chance to get in shape at the forty-year old landmark.

The new makeover includes an additional 10 thousand square feet, expanded cardio pulmonary and member areas. The project is partially funded by several major gifts from the Emerald Foundation, Tucson Conquistadores, City of Tucson, Drs. Helen and John Schaefer, the Ott Women's Club and others. The new gymnasium is funded by a 300 thousand dollar gift from the Conquistadores, which was matched by the City of Tucson.  The new gym is named after the founder of the Conquistadores Roy P. Drachman.

But take a walk outside and the newly renovated aquatic center is also making a splash.  Everything from the diving board, to the slide to the splash pad is new. They've also changed up the water in the pool from chlorine to salt water. The pool and the rest of the facilities are designed with special features to accommodate people with disabilities.
