Kayna joins the KOLD News 13 morning team from KBOI-TV in beautiful Boise, Idaho.
She is no stranger to the early morning hours of a sunrise show having done a news morning show for several years in Bend, Oregon and in Boise.
She was first hired as a sports anchor and after winning the "Oregon Wrestling Media Person of the Year" award. She was offered a chance to try her hand in morning news and jumped at it. She won first place at the Idaho Press Clubs for her health and medical reporting.
While she loves being a part of the news department, sports will always hold a place in her heart. Her father is a high school football coach and she grew up on the sidelines. (Glenwood Demons 2008 state champs).
Her mother is a marathon runner and hopefully someday Kayna will be able to keep up. For now she has a triathlon and a few half marathons under her belt.
Trail running with her dog tater is one of Kayna's favorite things, so Tucson is a perfect fit for her. She has spent lots of time in Arizona over the past few years and is excited to explore everything Tucson has to offer.
When she is not in the studios at KOLD News 13 you can rest assured she is hiking up Mt. Lemmon or trying new restaurants in search of the best guacamole in town.
Kayna is a graduate of Colorado State University where she received her bachelor's degree in speech communication with a concentration in rhetorical studies. She played on the women's lacrosse team for the CSU Rams.
