Police seek owners of recovered guns, artwork

Posted: Updated:

Tucson Police are trying to find the owners of several guns stole from an East Side self-storage facility.

More than 200 guns were stolen from Kolb Road Self-Storage, 2405 S. Kolb Road, between 2006 and 2009, police said. Self-Storage employee Nathan Andrew Hill, 20, of Tucson, has been arrested in the case, said Sgt Matt Ronstadt.

Six people reported 191 missing guns, but only 34 of the 50 recovered guns were claimed. Because there were no obvious signs the units had been broken into, the 16 guns not identified probably come from renters who don't know their property has been stolen. That means even more guns could be missing, Ronstadt said.

"We think we know where some of them are - or were - and we're trying to track them down," he said.

Rare artwork, knives, photographic equipment, and other valuables also have been recovered, but their owners have not been found.

Police are asking anyone who did business at Self-Storage during the period to check their items to make sure nothing is missing. If you suspect that you are a victim, call the Tucson Police Department Burglary Unit at (520) 791-5171 or 911.
