Possible Mountain Lion Attack Near Tucson Mountains

Posted: 11/1/04

Arizona Fish and Game officials are investigating whether mountain lions killed two large dogs and injured a third near the Tucson mountains.

The attack happened early Monday in an enclosed yard near Silverbell and Sweetwater. No people were attacked.

A vet says the wounds on the dogs are consistant with a mountain lion attack. But Game and Fish workers cannot confirm that. Right now, they're monitoring the area. Game and Fish reminds people living near wildlife areas to bring their pets in at night.

Earlier this year, Sabino Canyon was closed for awhile because of cougar sightings in the Catalina Mountains.
