Mauricio Marin - Tucson News Now

Mauricio Marin

It's is so good to be here! Although, I'm originally a California boy raised near the beach in sunny San Diego, I am so grateful that the Grand Canyon state has been treating me so well. I joined the Tucson News Now team in August, 2013. Before making my way here, I spent some time in Yuma where I helped launch news from the ground up as an Operations Manager/News Reporter for the KECY Fox 9/ABC 5 station.  Before that I worked with KSWT News 13 in Yuma as an Anchor/Reporter. I am so excited to continue being able to provide news to people in Arizona.

Every day I am so grateful to head off to work and do what I love. During my college days at U.C. Santa Barbara, I interned at multiple news stations in Southern California and even attended San Diego City College where I was nominated for a student Emmy award. I knew I wanted to be a news reporter ever since elementary school where I was about the only 5th grader who would go home and watch the 5 o'clock news instead of Power Rangers.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, biking, and getting to know new places. When it gets too hot outside, there's nothing like watching a good movie with friends and family.

I love news and I am always looking for a good story. Please feel free to get in touch and follow me on Twitter @MauricioMarinTV.
