Woman Found Dead In Backyard Pool, Husband A Possible Suspect

By Teresa Jun, KOLD News 13

A woman was discovered dead in a backyard swimming pool Friday night.  It happened on Cactus Canyon pass, near Shannon Road.

Sheriff's deputies arrived around 7pm to find the body of the woman, believed to be in her late forties.  They think she may have been killed sometime in the last 24 hours.

Authorities say she was beaten badly and had been found floating in the pool.

Her husband is considered a possible suspect based on a telephone call he made to his sister out of state.

"Basically what we had was a woman who was out of state, her brother called her, advising her that he had in fact killed his wife and left her in the pool," says PCSO spokeswoman Dawn Barkman.  "When deputies arrived, they found evidence to support what he had told his sister."

It was that sister who then called local authorities. The search is now on for 48-year-old Henry Fischbacher the husband of the believed victim tonight.

He is described as six feet tall, 195 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  He may be driving a 2002 Toyota Solaro, metallic beige in color with an Arizona license plate of "418 AWA."

Pima County Sheriff's deputies say no one else was inside the home at the time of the attack.

A final confirmation of the identity of the victim is still pending.
