How To Select Your Gems At the Gem Show

By, KOLD News 13 This Morning Anchor/Reporter Jenny Anchondo

If you are new to the gem selection process, your best bet is to just look for what you initially gravitate toward!  Helena Krodel from the Jewelry Information Center said even though that is a simple suggestion, it will give you cues about your own personal gem style.

When you are shopping at the 2008 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, it is also important to think about the four C's. It isn't just for diamonds, Krodel said.

Clarity, Cut, Color and Carat weight are appropriate measures for gems as well, Krodel said.

Vendors at the gem show are pre-screened, but Krodel said it is still a good idea to get recommendations from friends about reputable vendors.
