Karly Tinsley

Karly Tinsley joined the Tucson News Now Team in January of 2019. She is new to Tucson and to the state of Arizona.

Born and raised in Washington, Karly was more than happy to leave the rain for the desert. Karly attended Washington State University (#GoCougs) where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. Her love of journalism goes all the way back to 8th grade when she anchored the televised morning announcements.

Before making her way to Arizona, Karly worked at KNDU in the Tri-Cities, WA as a reporter and Weekend Anchor. She even spent some time in front of the weather wall and refers to herself as a "weather guesser."

When not at work Karly is probably out on a run, watching The Office for the 5th time on Netflix, or FaceTiming her mom.

Karly loves to cover all kinds of stories, but her favorite part is simply getting out into the community and meeting people. Although she will probably have to use her GPS to get anywhere for months, Karly is excited to explore Tucson!

Feel free to reach out with any story ideas, Karly would love to hear them!
