Since 1963, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson has been in the forefront of youth development. In addition to over 6,000 at-risk youth (age 7-17) who are members, thousands of additional youth utilize our six clubhouses through collaborative projects with numerous partnering community organizations.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson provides a safe place to go after school, a caring staff, and quality programs and activities for youth in the areas of character and leadership development, health and life skills, education and career development, the arts, and sports, fitness and recreation. Our main goal is to help develop the talents and positive attributes of youth living in disadvantaged situations. We are dedicated to working with kids to empower them to become successful, contributing members of society with endless potential for great futures.

Many in our community recognize and value the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson because of our proven 50-year track record of success in working with youth. We know that youth who participate in quality after-school programs have better academic performance, behavior and school attendance and greater expectations for the future. Youth who spend one to four hours per week in extracurricular activities are 51 percent less likely to have used drugs and 63 percent less likely to become teen parents than those who do not; 80% of former members say Club staff helped them learn right from wrong, 95% indicated the Club was the best thing available in their community, and 52% said participating in the Club "saved my life."

Membership is only $5 per school year and $5 per summer session, while the true cost to the organization is over $500 annually per child. If a family cannot pay - and many cannot - the child is provided an opportunity to “work” for their membership card by performing service to their club or community. Contributions from our donors through our annual benefactor campaign, grant funding, corporate partnerships and sponsorships, and special events enable us to fund raise in order to sustain our clubhouse operations.
