Marijuana Seized From Fake Border Patrol Trucks

It's a drug bust with a twist. Border Patrol officials have seized more than six million dollars worth of marijuana from two vehicles painted to look like Patrol units.

The units were painted with the Border Patrol emblem. They also had painted-on fake government license plates.

Border Patrol and U.S. Customs agents stopped the vehicles early this morning south of Sierra Vista as they came across the border. Agents say the smugglers tried a tasty alibi, taping sheets of chocolate over the fake Border Patrol markings.

One driver, a Mexican national, was arrested. The other driver fled over the border back into Mexico. Authorities say both vehicles were stolen.
