Lori Thompson has been in nursing for 17 years. Her experience includes a multitude of clinical experience in medical/surgical, telemetry, critical care, perioperative, intensive care, endoscopy and emergency room. She has precepted nursing student for many years in a variety of clinical areas. Furthermore, she has functioned as education coordinator and charge nurse. She has received awards from Cochise Health Alliance and Northwest Medical Center. She has been inducted into the International Honor Society of Nursing, and has been board certified as an operating room nurse. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Phoenix, with board certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Lori's emphasis of her practice is to provide optimal care to the underserved. She feels her most important role is to educate patients on prevention, health maintenance and well-being. She is dedicated to provide quality, nonjudgmental care to adolescents and young adults. She receives great satisfaction from teaching and advocating for this population.
Her professional interests are community health and medical missions. She cherishes her time spent with her grandniece, as well as nine nieces and nephews. In addition, she is involved at church. Lori enjoys music, the performing arts, hiking, traveling and spectating sports (especially Ohio State Football).
