CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The opening of Kenwood Towne Place has been delayed by constant financial issues and a myriad of safety concerns.
During a hearing on Thursday, the Hamilton County Building Commissioner extended a deadline for repairs at the facility, saying enough progress has been made.
Tenants have been ordered to resolve certain safety issues by tomorrow, or they could lose electricity and occupancy licenses. They were originally given a deadline of Dec. 4 to fix the issues.
Those issues include mold removal, and repairs to electrical and sprinkler systems.
If those repairs are sufficient, there's still the issue with Bear Creek Construction and subcontractors who walked off the job because they weren't getting paid.
It's unlikely that construction could resume immediately, but the unfinished sections of the complex need to be protected for the winter months.
