TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) – A 16-year-old girl killed in a crash on Interstate 10 Saturday night has been identified.
The Department of Public Safety says Monica Gutierrez was a passenger in a van that collided with a car at 6:30 p.m.
DPS says the van was traveling eastbound on I-10 when it crossed 3 lanes of traffic and clipped the car next to it.
The van then spun around and hit a chain linked fence.
Gutierrez was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle, DPS said.
The 17-year-old driver of the van was taken to University Medical Center to get checked out.
No one in the car was injured.
