LOUISVILLE (WAVE) - A man and woman accused of killing the man they were supposed to be caring for were arraigned Wednesday morning. Heather Lynn Baringer, 42, and 48-year-old Dennis Mitchell Hall are accused of murder, tampering with physical evidence and several other charges in the death of Jeffrey Bishop.

Both pleaded not guilty and were being held on $150,000 full cash bond. Their next court date was set for Sept. 20.

On Sept. 7, LMPD officers were called to the home Baringer and Hall were renting in the 1400 block of Arling Avenue after someone told police there may be a body inside the home. When police arrived, they discovered a strong odor coming from inside the home.

After searching the property, police found the body of Bishop, 53, in the basement wrapped in blankets, plastic and covered with a piece of carpet.

Police say the couple got into an argument with Bishop about money and Hall strangled Bishop sometime in late August, then hid his body in the basement of the home they all shared. Afterwards, Baringer and Hall reportedly continued to use Bishop's bank account and cash his disability checks.

We'll bring you the latest information as soon as it becomes available.

Barringer and Hall's next court date was set for Sept. 20.
