It's that time of the year again.
It's estimated that this year, we will spend on average, $715 on Christmas presents.
Before you finish your shopping, I'd ask you to think of one thing: don't forget your Southern Arizona small businesses.
For every $100 that you spend locally, it's estimated that $68 remain in the local economy. When you buy local--you create jobs.
Over the last ten years, small businesses have created 65 percent of net new jobs.
Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't visit the big chains, or pick up the catalog, or go on-line. What I am saying is that local businesses are the heart of our community--and can only survive if they are supported.
These small shops have put their money into our community--and we need to support them.
Small businesses are essential to growing our economy. Owners support our local charities, they serve on local boards and they help us build a better, stronger community.
Let's show our support during this holiday season.
