UPDATE:  A Tucson Fire crew with an arson dog are heading to investigate the Six Gun City fire Thursday afternoon.

TOMBSTONE, AZ (KOLD) - A restaurant and bar has burned to the ground in the small town of Tombstone southeast of Tucson. 

The fire started around 3:15 Wednesday morning.

Six Gun City Restaurant and Bar is at Toughnut and 5th street in Tombstone's Historic District.

40 firefighters from at least three departments are there.

Tombstone Town Marshall Billy Cloud tells KOLD news 13 the building is a total loss, but firefighters were able to keep the fire confined to the restaurant.

There is some smoke damage to adjacent buildings.

An arson investigators from the Sierra Vista Fire Department is on the way, as is standard procedure for fires like this.  

Apparently, a deputy on foot patrol had been in the area 15 minutes before the 911 call came in, and saw nothing.

Six Gun City is a popular place among the locals and tourists, with gunfight re-enactments daily and steaks and ribs on the menu.
