PHOENIX (KOLD) - Gov. Jan Brewer is calling state lawmakers into special session to consider an economic development package she worked out with members of the Republican-led Legislature.
Known as the Arizona Competitiveness Package, the proposal includes phased-in business tax cuts, relocation incentives for projects that create jobs and transforming the Arizona Commerce Department into a quasi-private authority focused on economic development.
"The Competitiveness Package will make Arizona a magnet for business expansion, relocation, capital formation and investment," said Governor Brewer. "This is our roadmap for future economic growth."
The special session begins Monday afternoon.
