Jared Loughner arrest photos released

By Michael Truelsen - email

MARANA, AZ (KOLD) - Jared Loughner's arrest photos have been released.

At a hearing in San Diego on Friday, the judge left it up to the U.S. Marshals to decide. They released the photos Tuesday afternoon.

Both the defense and prosecution believe that releasing the pictures could hurt Loughner's chance at a fair trial.

Loughner is accused of shooting 19 people, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, at a Jan. 8 public event in Tucson. Six of those people died.

The latest Arizona economic report shows jobs are increasing statewide and the unemployment rate is dropping, although it's still above the federal figures. And while the state has every reason to celebrate the good news, things are not as stellar in southern Arizona.
