Four and a half months after the Tucson shooting that killed six people and injured 13, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a group is working to get her out of office. But one expert said it's an exercise in futility.
TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - In response to an online petition drive seeking to have Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords removed from office, another online petition drive has been established to show support for her.
It reads:
"We, the undersigned, insist that CD #8's House seat be retained by Representative Gabrielle Giffords and not be deemed vacated. We wish her the best for her recovery and feel her staff are fulfilling her duties to the best of their ability and to the fullest extent of their power."
Giffords continues to recover from the wound she suffered during the January 8 assassination attempt.
Tonight on KOLD News 13 Live at 5, you'll hear from one of the first signers of the pro-Giffords petition.
