TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - The latest numbers of those without power have grown to 20,000.
Originally, Tucson Electric Power reported about 5,000 of their customers were without service in the Rita Ranch and midtown areas.
That number has grown since to include a total 20,000 customers throughout the city, TEP spokesman Joe Barrios said.
Reports of no electricity are coming from all points in region, including the northwest side, midtown Tucson and as far south as Rita Ranch.
Initial reports had about 2,300 businesses and residences without service near Prince and Campbell, TEP spokesman Joe Barrios said.
In Rita Ranch, about 1,600 customers are without their power.
Information on the cause of the outage was not immediately available. Those needing to report an outage are being asked to call 623-7711, Barrios said.
