Speak your mind of future of free, local TV

Posted: Updated:

Right now, the future of local television is bright. And, we want to make sure it stays that way!

Think about this: As part of the debt and budget negotiations, Congress is considering action that could threaten your ability to view free, over-the-air television.

The federal government is looking at how the airwaves are used. And these decisions could impact your ability to receive local news, public-safety information and high-quality programs you value . . . and receive free and over-the-air.

This congressional action seeks to reallocate some TV channels through a process known as spectrum incentive auctions. The auctioned airwaves would benefit the wireless industry as they build out their networks.

Local television broadcasters all over the country want to make sure that any government decision about spectrum doesn't deny you the free access to the services you want and need.

Go to futureoftv.org or call 1-800-200-4372.

Tell your member of Congress to protect local TV as they consider ways to auction TV channels.

We appreciate your help and your concern.
