Giffords' staff, Tucson mayor to be awarded

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' District Director Ron Barber, along with Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup have been selected to receive the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration award next week.

The ceremony will be held in Hollywood on August 24th at the Voice Awards at Paramount Studios in Hollywood

Barber is being honored for his work to promote mental health awareness and understanding.

The mayor is being recognized for his efforts to help Tucson and the nation heal from the January 8 shootings.
