A New Year's Wish List for Tucson (Part 2)

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Earlier this week, we gave our first five of our Top Ten Wish List for Tucson for 2012.  Here are the second five:

  1. Keep Tucson's Mail Processing Center.  The Postal Service is considering closing it to save money and sorting mail out of Phoenix.  Tucson is NOT an extension of Phoenix.  We need to continue to speak up and fight this!
  2. Resolve the Rosemont Copper Mine issue.  This has been going on too long—almost five years.
  3. Safe water supply needs to be a priority.  The City of Tucson should follow up on plans to build a ten million dollar water treatment plant and push the Air Force and Department of Defense…major polluters in the region…for reimbursement.
  4. We have to support the Tucson Airport.  A healthy airport is a sign of a healthy community.  And, if we support TIA, we can get more direct flights out of Tucson.
  5. And, probably wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be GREAT to have a loop or bypass freeway around our wonderful city.

We'd like to hear what wishes YOU have for Tucson and our surrounding communities.  Just e-mail me at dbush@kold.com or go to our website or Facebook page to comment.  We'll share some of your ideas next week.
