Tucson protest over Skechers ad

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A protest over an upcoming Skechers Super Bowl advertisement will take place Saturday, Jan. 28 in Tucson.

The ad features a small dog in sneakers racing a pack of greyhounds.

A greyhound protection group GREY2K USA, says they have collected almost 115,000 signatures from people against the ad.

The group claims the track mistreats greyhounds.

The owners insist their cages are among the largest in the country and that the greyhounds are well cared for.

The Skechers store on Campbell Avenue in Tucson is one of ten protest sites.

Skechers has made no indication that they will pull the advertisement.
