Gina Trunzo is a Fox 11 Tucson Now Daybreak anchor. Born in upstate New York and raised in Florida, she has made Tucson and the Desert Southwest her home.
After high school she went to college in Gainesville at THE University of Florida. For those of you who know Gina, you already know she bleeds orange and blue and loves the Florida Gators more than anything. College football season is her favorite time of year!
After graduating with a degree in Telecommunications-News Broadcasting, Gina interned at Good Morning America in New York City, where she worked side-by-side with some of the top producers, directors, and on-air talent. It was a life-changing experience that she never forgot.
Before moving to Tucson, Gina worked in Greensboro, NC at the CW affiliate as their Entertainment Reporter and had a great time getting to know people, places, and things in that interesting part of the country.
Gina's first trip to Tucson was for her job interview at KMSB Fox 11 and after just a few days here, she never looked back! Gina was the Weather Anchor and Lifestyle Correspondent for KMSB before becoming the Daybreak anchor. She also produced and hosted the popular local travel show Tucson Treasures which showcased the best of Southern Arizona.
In the time she has spent in Southern Arizona, she has been actively involved with many local charity organizations, including the March of Dimes, Leukemia & Lymphoma Association, American Red Cross, and Therapeutic Riding of Tucson. She is also a Certified Tucson Ambassador, a recognition she received through the local Convention and Visitors Bureau, for her work and involvement in the community.
Gina recently got married and she and her husband, Rich, have Coconut, Gina's crazy little dog that Rich kindly took under his wing after marrying Gina. In her spare time, she loves the simplest of things … relaxing at home and trying out new delicious baked good recipes!
