(AP) - The Court of Arbitration for Sport has stripped 2010 Tour de France winner Alberto Contador of his title, and he's banned from the sport until August of this year.
The Court of Arbitration found Contador guilty of doping after he tested positive for clenbuterol during the 2010 Tour.
Contador says the failed test resulted from eating contaminated meat.
He also forfeits all his wins in 2011, that include the Giro d'Italia.
Andy Schleck, who finished second to Contador in the 2010 Tour de France, will be elevated to winner.
The CAS actually banned Contador for two years but the panel backdated the ban, so Contador is eligible to return to competition on Aug. 6.
He will miss the year's Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France and the London Olympics.
He will be eligible to ride in the Spanish Vuelta, that begins Aug. 18.
