Tucson man sentenced in 2011 kidnapping case

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A Tucson man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for kidnapping and sexual assault on a child.

Steve McPherson pleaded guilty in connection with the case in which police say he kidnapped and tried to assault an 11-year-old girl last February as she and her sister were walking to school.

Tips from witnesses led police to McPherson's home, and the girl was found at a park on Tucson's west side.

McPherson has already received a 70-year sentence for child pornography.
