TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Soccer mega-star David Beckham arrived in Tucson with his L.A. Galaxy teammates Tuesday afternoon.

The team will be participating in the 2nd annual FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, which kicks off February 22 at Kino Stadium. The tournament features four MLS teams: New York Red Bulls, New England Revolution, Real Salt Lake, and Los Angeles Galaxy.

Surrounded by camera crews at Tucson International Airport, Beckham briefly told reporters that he's glad to be in southern Arizona.

"Very happy right now, and ready to play," Beckham said.

"It's great, and we're real excited about our visit to Tucson," added L.A. Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena. "We look forward to a nice ten days here. I've been to Tucson before, and I think it's a great community, with great people, and so we're excited about being here."
