Astronauts growing zucchini in space - Tucson News Now

Gardening is something that some of us are better at than others, but have you ever thought about how to grow something in outer space? The crew on the International Space Station is currently trying out their green thumbs.

By growing a zucchini squash in space, the astronauts are trying to see how plant life reacts to weightless environments. They are documenting each step of the growing process, from seed to blooming plant.
