TUCSON, AZ (AP) -

Authorities have released the name of a man fatally shot in a police standoff at a Tucson home and his wife, who was found dead inside.

Tucson police said Friday that 46-year-old Eric Lee Davis was shot by a SWAT team officer to end a five-hour standoff Thursday night.

His body was found in an upstairs bedroom and police discovered the body of 34-year-old Samantha Davis in the den. Police won't say how she died.

Police say Eric Davis and his wife lived in the basement of his parents' west-side Tucson home.

Davis' mother told a 911 dispatcher she had been locked out of the home and heard a gunshot while trying to get inside about 12:30 p.m. About 25 shots were fired at responding officers, but they escaped injury.
