Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona Air Show this weekend

Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is hosting the Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona air show this Saturday and Sunday.

The event will take place 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Craycroft and Swan gates will open at 8:30 a.m. rain or shine. Aerial performances will begin at 11 a.m.

D-M officials said on their Facebook page that they are not expecting weather to affect the aerial performances but if changes were to be made they will be announced Saturday morning.

Drivers should be aware of the following travel restrictions:

-Starting at 6 a.m. westbound Golf Links Road will have only one travel lane at Swan and Craycroft to add a turn lane into D-M entrances.

-Starting at 2 p.m. eastbound and westbound travel lanes will be closed on Golf Links Road from Ajo Way/Aviation to Wilmot Road.  Southbound travel lanes will be closed on Swan Road and at Craycroft Road from 29th Street to Golf Links Road. Left turns will be prohibited from southbound Craycroft and southbound Swan to eastbound 29th Street.  Eastbound travel lanes on Golf Links and on 29th Street will be closed at Swan Road.

All of the travel restrictions should be cleared up each evening by 6 p.m.
