Gov. Jan Brewer calls education a "cornerstone" of her administration.
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
Governor Jan Brewer wants Arizona children to hit the books, especially once school is out for summer.
The Governor announced her new "Summer Reading List Program" yesterday at an elementary school in Phoenix. The program is a statewide, collaborative effort encouraging children in our state to read, even when school is not in session.
Governor Brewer called education a "cornerstone" of her administration. Students are asked to read at least five books from the Governor's suggested reading list. The selected books are developed specifically for students in kindergarten through high school.
