TUCSON (Tucson News Now) - Tucson's Catholic diocese will ordain two deacons to the priesthood this Saturday.

Deacons Ramonito Celestial and Jorge Farias-Saucedo will be ordained to the priesthood during a liturgy at St. Augustine Cathedral at 10 a.m.

Both Celestial and Farias-Saucedo attended the Mundelein Seminary at our Lady of the Lake University in Mundelein, Ill.

The Diocese says Celestial was born in a small community in the province of Iloilo in the mid-southern part of the Philippines.  He says his aunt, Sister Ma. Raphaelie Celestial, O.P., as one person who inspired him to consider his vocation to the priesthood.  After ordination, Celestial will work at Immaculate Conception Parish in Yuma, Ariz.

Farias-Saucedo was born in Mexico City and immigrated to this country at 15 years old, learned English and attended college here in Tucson.  He worked for a time as a dental assistant at El Rio Clinic.  Farias-Saucedo will work at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Road, following ordination.

The ordination brings the total number of priests in the Diocese to 224, serving more than 300,000 Catholics within the Diocese.  The Diocese has an additional 13 seminarians currently studying for priesthood.
