Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is moving back to Tucson.
Giffords' husband, Capt. Mark Kelly made the announcement Sunday morning on his Twitter feed:
"Moving back to Tucson today. Gabby has been waiting for this day for a long time."
Giffords has been living in Houston, following her treatment and rehabilitation at TIRR Memorial Hermann.
The former congresswoman and 12 other people were wounded, and six people killed in the Jan. 8, 2011 shooting outside a Tucson supermarket.
The gunman, Jared Lee Loughner, will be sentenced to life in prison in November, after pleading guilty to 19 charges in connection with the shooting.
