Foles has taken steps

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles is having an excellent initial Training Camp with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Friday night , filling in for injured starter Michael Vick, Foles threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a 27-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

The biggest difference with Foles this pre season is his footwork.

Nick is much more comfortable in the pocket and is looking very calm even when facing pressure. It's clear that he is reading the rush and using his feet to shuttle out of the pocket in order to find space and make place.

In the Cleveland game he also showed the ability to bounce back quickly. After throwing and interception on his first pass of the game, Foles led the Eagles to the end zone on his next two possessions.

Impressive working even though in each instance he was working with a short field.

His touchdown pass to tight end Brent Celek was vintage new look Foles as he was able to escape a collapsing pocket with his eyes down field and find the open receiver.

Foles finished 12 of 19 for 146 yards with one interception.
