Body of fallen agent arrives at medical examiner

The body of fallen agent Nicolas Ivie is at the Pima County Medical Examiner's office near Ajo and Country Club.

This afternoon he arrived at the medical center campus, on a Customs and Border Protection Helicopter. He was taken from the helipad and placed in a white vehicle. Ivie was escorted by a Border Patrol vehicle in the front and back to the medical examiner's building.

Inside the medical examiner's bay, about a dozen agents waited for Ivie. As the vehicle pulled in, the agents stood at attention.

Agents helped take the body of Ivie out of a vehicle. He was covered with an American flag, as he was taken inside the building.

As part of the investigation, the corner will perform an autopsy.
