A guilty verdict has been reached in the 2011 road rage turned murder case.
The case began in early August 2011, when 24-year-old Andres Buelna followed Benny Alvarez-Casarez Jr. into a Jack in the Box parking lot, and fired shots at the victim. Alvarez-Casarez died at the scene. Tucson Police caught up with Buelna around midnight that evening, arresting him on charges of first-degree murder.
This was a perfect example of how the public can help with the search and arrest of a suspect. Buelna was caught at a motel near I-10 and Grant, based on tips called in from witnesses who were in the Jack in the Box parking lot, as well as some motorists that were along Campbell Avenue.
